My semicolon on my wrist.
I love you
You were ready
The pain is strong and urges rise
But I’ll see you
When it lets me
Your pain is gone, your hands untied.
And if you’re wondering why
I never wrote things for you
It’s because you never inspired me.
You never made me feel
And if you think this is about you,
It’s about him
And how I always compared you to him.
I compared the way you touched me to his touch.

As night surrenders to the morning
and dreams are safely tucked away
beneath the crack of distant thunder
I’m wondering could this be the day
In my mind I envision your reaction
would you smile, what might you do
were I to gaze deeply into your eyes
and ever so softly whisper I love you
I see you wiping away a single tear
then slowly sweetly calling my name
as I wait for what seems an eternity
praying you’ll say you feel the same
but i love you
